Enkô, a poor girl from the boondocks, teams up with the ghost of the charismatic woman who created kabuki to take the theatrical world by storm. But Enkō's a girl. So, she pretends to be a man who plays women onstage, and complications ensue. Possessions. Bad sex jokes. Stardom.
