Yesterday I finished the last of grad school papers and emailed them off into the horizon for my professors to enjoy. And by enjoy, I mean grade, and by grade, I mean hopefully give me something passing.
P+FD hasn't been updated for about a week, and something feels wrong with the universe. It's always on my brain, like a story on the back burner, but I haven't had the time to sit down and finish the damn thing.
As it stands:
Chapter 26: Done.
Chapter 27: Done.
Chapter 28: 1.5K
Chapter 29: 2.5K
Chapter 30: 2K
Which means that parts of the last three chapters have been written and I just have to slide in the missing scenes. Starting May 19th, I'll be working on my thesis full-time, so today and tomorrow are for P+FD. I hope to finish 28 by tomorrow evening. Asuka and Chirikai talk about their feelings some more. They remember that there's still a conflict to be resolved.
These last couple chapters are going to be on the longer side, between 4K and 5K a pop because everyone has a moment.
Yesterday I took the train out to Culver City, and I found myself imagining the fight scenes at the end of this book. I do some of my best thinking in the shower and on trains. Neither place is conducive to writing, but they help me think.
I also finally got around to seeing Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was okay. (Did anyone else feel really confused over the lack of Hawkeye? It felt like a movie desperate to give everyone a moment otherwise. Anyway. Not a bad night at the movies.)
Man, if I put my mind to it, I can really write some cheese:
Spoiler alert. Whatever. I regret nothing.
